An emotional episode as the fearless Catcote Cooks crusaders pick themselves up and dust themselves off after last episode's rock bun disaster. Our 'Rock Pools' debacle sent shockwaves around the cookery TV community, with several high profile chefs reaching out to us to offer their condolences. However, the legends of CF2 will not be beaten by buns! After crying a little bit, those fearless warriors picked themselves up, dusted themselves down, and faced failure with a steely determination unmatched by the most tenacious of heroes. Can Dylan and CF2 wrestle victory from the jaws of a soggy rock bun defeat? There's only one way to find out...
The Catcote Cooks Crew manage to grab defeat from the jaws of victory in this Grease-Themed Musical Special. As the class are going Grease the Musical for their topic this term, they decided to make Rock ('n' Roll) Buns.
Sadly... the end result is a DISASTER! The buns are more like Rock Pools as opposed to Rock Buns. What a bunch of beauty school dropouts!
Never fear, we will try again and we will be victorious!
The gang are in fine form, making delicious Coconut Macaroons! These tasty wonders are dipped in chocolate and have a cherry on top! Beauuuuuudiful! Watch as Kieran gets very excited during his part, and the mighty Stephen does some top class mixing and melts chocolate like a pro!
This week we have a special guest presenter, EMM to the B who stands in for regular presenter Dylan. She does an amazing job, despite the best efforts of Pete the Teacher to put her off!
Watch at the 3 minute 17 mark to solve the mystery of how Reece's top went home so filthy and who his mam should send the cleaning bill to! Also, check out Caitlin's cheeky laugh at the beginning of the episode, it's priceless!
Note from Pete the Teacher: On editing this, I noticed just how much work I ended up doing for the learners, and how little I let them do themselves. Not a great example to set and I apologise. Normal service of maximum independence will be on show next episode!
The Catcote Cooks Crew continue their topic of Sir Pranceabout and the Dragon. The gang practice their heraldry skills by making and decorating Shortbread Shields. They looked great and were delicious!
This episode features a special message for our lovely friend Stephen, who couldn't join Catcote Cooks this week as he had been in hospital for an operation. Get well soon Stephen!
This episode is presented by birthday boy Anth B, with a special, rather grumpy appearance from Anth F.
Yowswers! The Catcote Cooks Gang at Catcote Futures are doing the sensory story Sir Pranceabout and the Dragon as their topic this term. The gang have decided tom make some spicy cheese scones that are as hot as the dragon's breath itself!
I think Caitlin puts a little too much spicy cayenne pepper in the recipe and Kieran is a little over enthusiastic with the mustard powder - these bad boys were HOT!!!
Sadly, this episode features an apology by (Teacher of the Year 2006) Pete Wells who made a rare blunder. An event not seen since 1962!
The gang really enjoyed making American pancakes last week and Dylan was disappointed to miss it. Ever the dramatic pantomime dames, we said "Well we'll have to do it again then won't we!" And we did!
(Oh no you didn't!)
"Oh yes de did!" Etc!
Some great switch work from young Reece in this one!
Ah, the humble classic, a Hame and Cheese Toastie!
The gang, led this time by Dylan, who tries to do his best Sunderland accent to make fun of hi slong suffering teacher. There's a very rhythmic cheese grating section by James, that should appeal to fans of ASMR and some top class switch throwing from Kieran!
Hats off to Dylan for carrying this show and not having too much dead air!
It's a hot one, this episode, as very brave Pete and Reece try spicy muffins!
Our exploration of bread continues as we explore the humble English breakfast muffin! This time we add delicious cheese and either spicy hot sauce or Worcester Sauce, beautiful!
Watch out for all the usual terrible puns in this great episode (pay particular notice of Caitlin's unorthodox way of cutting muffins!)
Welcome to a new season of Catcote Cooks Extra! This term, members of our Branching Out Pathway will be joining our Aiming High Pathway to make a variety of simple dishes.
There are three new presenters this term, Stephen, James and Kieran, so look out for them, they're naturals!
This term, we are focusing on bread products, starting with, Scrambled Eggs on Crumpets, yummy!
